Social projects

Humanitarian aid
Working with quality providers, we distribute basic necessities to hospitals, social service centers, EMS and emergency shelters for women and children.
The main challenge of humanitarian aid is to effectively coordinate efforts to meet immense needs, while navigating between different obstacles (e.g. logistical, organizational, financial).
Socio-professional integration
“Job-Coaching”
For several years now, the Sunflower Association has been supporting people in their professional integration, offering personalized follow-up through all the processes and steps involved in integrating people into the world of work in Switzerland. This applies to young graduates, jobseekers, people undergoing professional retraining, people with social and professional problems or people with disabilities.
This process is often facilitated by schemes such as career orientation, discovery and target validation courses.
Since May 2024 the Sunflower Association has been offering "Job-Coaching" courses, weekly workshops (group and individual courses) held in Geneva and Nyon.
Integration center in Geneva
In 2022, the Sunflower Association opened the Integration Center to help Ukrainian refugees adapt to new conditions. Numerous specialists offered language courses (French and English), job-search assistance and support for socio-professional integration. Open every day of the week, the Center regularly offered a wide range of activities and master-classes.
Social projects
"Sunflower" - office of psycho-social support in Geneva
In collaboration with the Swiss Hirslanden Medical Group and Geneva University Hospitals, our team of 15 staff (Ukrainian psychologists and administrative personnel) were on hand to provide support to Ukrainian refugees, volunteers and host families. Consultations (individual or group), organized by our specialists, were available 24/7, offering listening and personalized support according to each situation. The counsellors in the Psycho-social Support Office worked in active collaboration with their Swiss counterparts.
Consultations were free of charge and offered in Ukrainian, Russian, French and English.
“Sunny Club” conversation club
From 2022 to 2024, the Sunflower Association offered Ukrainian refugees the unique “Sunny Club”.
Located in the heart of Geneva's old town, the emblematic place for all philosophers, great historical figures and reformers, our “Sunny Club” presented all the country's news on a weekly basis, covering the most important newspaper, magazine and TV titles. All topics were presented exclusively by French and English speakers.
The “Sunny Club” organised weekly discussion meetings that shed light on current events in Switzerland:
- Culture
- Sports
- Health
- Political life in Switzerland (new laws, votes, etc.)
- Music
- Miscellaneous
- Children
- Leisure
Children's Center "Malyatko"
From 2022 to 2024, the Sunflower Association welcomed children and their parents to Geneva's “Malyatko”, offering a wonderful meeting place.
“Malyatko” was a particularly pleasant place, offering a wide range of activities.
In addition to a variety of games, toys, craft materials and accessories for children of all ages, we offered reading areas as well as tables for drawing and painting or making modeling clay. 3 times a week, our volunteers offered a wide variety of fun activities for Ukrainian children to stimulate their development.
It was a wonderful place to spend time together, playing, discovering, sharing, exchanging joys or difficulties, gently preparing for life in the community or simply taking a break.
This space of safety and trust has enabled many Ukrainian families to network, get valuable advice and share good times.
The “Malyatko” children's center offered children aged 0 to 10 a unique way of discovering community life (sometimes for the first time) outside their family environment.
"Zernechko" play area
In 2023, the Sunflower Association offered children aged 0 to 4 the “Zernechko” play area, a warm and welcoming place in the heart of Geneva.
In partnership with the City of Geneva and the Cerf Volant Association, we opened the doors of “Zernechko” to welcome Ukrainian children and their mothers (S status), offering them a caring environment adapted to all needs, with plenty of games and activities for the little ones.
In addition to the Ukrainian-Russian-French translator, the activities were supervised by Swiss psychologists.
